Jamal C. Morris Foundation seeks to send promising African-American students to Drexel University School of Engineering

PHILADELPHIA — On May 6, 2017, the Jamal C. Morris Foundation will host a memorial service and scholarship luncheon to launch the JCMF Scholarship Fund in Philadelphia, Pa.
The foundation and fund will raise money for promising young African-American students to attend Drexel University’s College of Engineering.
Jamal C. Morris of Warwick graduated from Drexel University School of Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineer and became a mechanical engineer in Philadelphia.
In April 2016, Morris was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle on Market Street. He was 27 years old.
Since then, his family and friends have been advocating for safer streets throughout the City of Philadelphia and have created the Jamal C. Morris Foundation in his memory.
Morris’ mother, Channabel Morris of Warwick, will host the memorial service and luncheon at the First District Plaza, 3801 Market St. in Philadelphia from 1 to 4 p.m.
The foundation has set high goals for itself, hoping to send promising African-American students to Drexel University School of Engineering to take part in the educational program that helped shape Jamal Morris’ life.
