Larry J. Ochs of Pine Island entered into rest on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. He was 63.

The son of Jacob Ochs and Evelyn VanDuzer Ochs, he was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Middletown.

Larry was a 45-year member and past chief of the Amity Fire Company, a member of the Monroe Chester Sportsman’s Club and a member of the NRA where he was also an NRA instructor. Larry also participated in the Chevy Truck Sportsman’s Shooting Challenge.

Survivors include wife, Cindy (Norton) Ochs; four daughters, Jennifer Ochs, Kristen DeSiervo (John), Amy Norton and Amanda Nowlin (Don); five grandchildren: Ethan Snyder, Piper Nowlin, John Norton, Kayla DeSiervo and Luca DeSiervo; sister Sharon Gruber (Barry); two nieces: Melanie Beattie and Heather St. John; along with great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial visitation will be held Monday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to noon at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1, Pine Island.

Memorial service will be held at noon Monday, October 23, at the funeral home. The Rev. Timothy Anderson will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
