WV Wildcats Boys Lacrosse go a combined 18-0 to compete for championship title

— Both WV Wildcats boys grades 7/8 teams ended their winter league season undefeated for a combined record of 18-0.

The indoor winter league is hosted by Turf 17 in Goshen and runs from early December through early March.

The WV Wildcats entered two 13-member grade 7/8 teams, Purple and Gray, in the league.

Rival teams included both recreational and competition travel players/teams from Pine Bush, Delaware Valley, two Wallkill teams, Goshen and the Turf 17 house team, the Knight Hawks.

“We have a mix of veteran players and players relatively new to the sport," said Coach Scott Walker. "It was so exciting to give them all the opportunity to play in a very competitive environment and to watch them work together, week after week, as a team."

Added Coach Scott Hansen: “And to see both of our teams advance to the top two spots was just icing on the cake."

Walter and Hansen were assisted by coaches Rob Holder, Tom Cosgrove, and Tom Accardo.

The season culminated on Sunday, March 12, with both WV Wildcats teams competing against each other for the Championship title.

"Regardless of who came out on top, these boys are all winners and I'm proud of them for a season very well played - with heart, determination and respect for the game," said WV Wildcats League President Todd Orlando.
