WARWICK — This March, the Albert Wisner Public Library is offering a variety of musical programs:

Conductorsize!

• Friday, March 24, 6:30 p.m.

A fun evening for all ages, combining musical, educational, and aerobic activity, Conductorcise stimulates both body and brain using the tool and art of conducting. This year also is the 15th anniversary of the creation of Conductorcise.

Grab a baton and join Maestro David Dworkin for a musical workout.

This program is for all age groups: adults, teens and children.

A very brief intro to jazz

• Thursday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m.

This class will explore some basic concepts of jazz: improvisation, chord treatment, movement, rhythms, the blues and more (as directed by class experiences and interest).

Part lecture, part listening; a fun and easy time spent with a truly American genre.

This program coordinates with the March 31 concert described below.

What makes it jazz?

• Live Concert, Friday, March 31, at 7 p.m.

Jazz musicians Larry Newcomb and Joe Tranchina will perform jazz pieces illustrating the fundamental parameters and techniques of American jazz as described in the March 23 program.
