WARWICK — In celebration of Black History Month, the Village of Warwick Sesquicentennial Committee, in partnership with the Union AME Church, will host “An Evening of Music with E’lissa Jones” on Friday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.

The concert will take place at the Union AME Church, located at 98 McEwen St., Warwick.

The evening will begin with the Hudson Valley Ebony Strings as the opening act.

The main concert will feature the E’lissa Jones Band that includes Jones as vocalist who also plays the violin, guitar and piano; Mickey Kopchak on bass; Michael Robert Hickey - vocals and drums; and Mark McNutt on guitar.

Jones is an exceptionally talented artist with a wide range that includes a dark and melancholy voice with a velvety quality. Her songs embrace audiences with her powerful melodies and expressive lyrics. Influential styling ranges from folk music, rock, in her catalogue of more than 250 original songs.

“The Village's Sesquicentennial Committee is excited to partner with the UAME Church to present such a wonderful venue to honor Black history and culture in our community," Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard said in the press release announcing the concert. "E'lissa Jones is a musician, teacher and quite simply a remarkable talent."
