WARWICK — The Jane Held Memorial Scholarship, in honor of a parishioner who lost her battle with cancer in 2005, was awarded to Stephen-St. Edward School eighth-grader Mairin MacDougall, daughter of Suzi and Ryan MacDougall of New Hampton.

Each year a student is chosen for his or her respect for life, kindness and volunteerism.

The presentation of the award was held during Catholic Schools Week 2017 at a potluck dinner on Feb. 1.

The scholarship covers one month's tuition, or $434.75.
