Education foundation's annual kick ball tournament raises nearly $3,000

WARWICK — The Warwick Foundation for Excellence in Learning raised nearly $3,000 to benefit students and teachers of the Warwick Valley School District at its third annual kick ball tournament on June 2.

The funds will be used for the foundation's Mini Grant Program.

Thirteen teams and approximately 135 players came out to play in the single-elimination tournament which culminated in a final round between Team Ginley and the Fire Balls. Team Ginley took home the trophy.

In a press release detailing the event's success, Vanessa Holland, the chair of the foundation, thanked participants, volunteers and sponsors:

• Apple Valley Pharmacy, Berkeley College Online, Crystal Run Health Care, Custom Tailoring by Eglie and Dean Diltz Realtor for The Green Team.

• Also: The law office of Jacob Tuckfelt, LLC, Nicosia, Emmons, Pavez & Henderson, Regal Homes & Properties Inc., Seagull Photographic Art, TNT Burger, The Computer Guy and WAMBO.

The mission of the Warwick Foundation for Excellence in Learning, as community based, not for profit organization, is to promote, enhance, provide, and enrich the educational, teaching and learning opportunities within the Warwick Valley School District.
