Robert E. Condon of Bayville, New Jersey, and Jupiter, Florida, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
He was a district manager for NYNEX, retiring after 30 years of service.
He was also part of the Local 137 Operating Engineers, Communications Workers of America and Teamster 456.
Prior to his employment with the telephone company, he was a New York State trooper.
He served in Naval Aviation during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Navy League of the United States, Jersey Shore Council, The American Legion Post 129 in Toms River and the Sonata Bay Homeowners Association.
Born in West Haven, Connecticut, a resident of Westchester County, New York, he then lived in Suffern, for 34 years, prior to moving to Bayville, New Jersey, in 1993. He also has been a resident of Jupiter, Florida, since 2003.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Bryde Condon, in 2001, two brothers, Eugene G. and Alan A. Condon, and sister Marjorie C. Grant.
Surviving are his wife Mildred-Alice at home; his daughter Beverly Simon of Tuxedo Park; his son Robert A. and family of Rockland County, stepson Steven P. Volovar and his family of Maple Glen, Pennsylvania.
Arrangements are being furnished by Anderson and Campbell in Toms River, N.J.
Internment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Military Cemetery, in Wrightstown, N.J.
