Dr. AnnaMaria C. Arias has graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She is the daughter of Maria and the late Oscar Arias.
AnnaMaria is a Warwick Valley Class of 2006 graduate.
Residency will take place at Orange Regional Medical Center.
Jeanette Arias graduated from Rutgers School of Social Work Summa Cum laude and will be attending New York University Graduate School this fall.
Jeanette also is the daughter of Maria and the late Oscar Arias. She is a Warwick Valley Class of 2010 graduate.
Tyler B. Folino, a 2012 graduate of Warwick High School, was named to the Presidents list at Pratt Institute of Technology for the Spring 2014 semester. He had a 3.8 GPA. Folino is Architecture major.
He is the son of Thomas and Nancy Folino.
The following students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J.:
Justine Thomas of Warwick, a History major.
Caitlin Loyka of Warwick, a Psychology major.
To achieve this honor, a student must carry 12 or more credits that semester and have a 3.5 grade point average or above.
Eleni Blu Wechsler, a freshman majoring in biology at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester.
To qualify, students must have an academic average of 3.50 or higher and take six credit hours or more within the semester.
Eleni, a resident of Warwick, is the child of Barbara Wechsler and Norman Wechsler, and a graduate of Warwick Valley High School in Warwick.
Adina Benedetto of Greenwood Lake was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Mitchell College in New London Conn.
Adina is a Hotel Management major and expects to graduate in May 2015.
She is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.
Awards, programs, honors
Diedre Davis of Warwick was one of 50 SUNY Oneonta student-athletes named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and Commissioner’s List for the spring 2014 season.
To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a student must be varsity athlete who has completed the entire season and earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 for the semester in which they competed. In addition, to be named to the Commissioner’s List, the student athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3 based on three semesters at the institution. (Does not have to be consecutive semesters).
Diedre, who is majoring in biology, was a member of the track and field team.
Several area residents were among the nearly 200 SUNY Oswego students taking part in off-campus internships this summer through the college’s Experience-Based Education program:
Timothy M. Mullhaupt of Warwick, a senior broadcasting and mass communication major, interned at WFAN Radio Station in New York City.
Marissa L. Sarbak of Warwick, a junior communication and social interaction major, interned at News Channel 34 in Binghamton.
The Experience-Based Education program at Oswego places students in internships and career awareness opportunities that allow them to earn college credits while garnering valuable life experience.
