GREENWOOD LAKE — The Town Beach at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, at the end of Windermere Avenue in the Village of Greenwood Lake, is now open weekends from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for supervised swimming with certified lifeguards.

Starting on June 28, it will be open daily for swimming from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The park has bathroom and shower facilities as well as barbecue grills and picnic tables. Playground equipment is also available.

The park also sports a new paved parking surface that the Village of Greenwood Lake and the Town of Warwick worked jointly on with a grant obtained by state Sen. John Bonacic.

Season and daily passes are available at the gate or at the Town Clerk’s office. For more information, call 986-1124 or log onto www.townofwarwick.org.

In order to ensure our residents access to fishing at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, the town has instituted a permit process.

In addition to ya New York State DEC license, a permit must be obtained from the Town Clerk. The cost for town residents is $10 per season, with a limit of two poles per permit.

For non-residents the cost is $10 per day.
