West Milford Police seek public's help in identifying armed robber

WEST MILFORD, N.J. — The West Milford Township Police Department requests that anyone who may have witnessed the armed robbery of the SBP Service Station located at 555 Warwick Turnpike contact the Detective Bureau.

The robbery occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28.

Police said a man robbed the service station while brandishing a firearm, which he then discharged prior to fleeing northbound on Warwick Turnpike in a dark colored pickup truck, possibly a Toyota Tacoma.

Two employees sustained minor injuries during the incident, though not due to the firing of the weapon.

Video footage recovered by West Milford detectives showed the suspected pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Warwick Turnpike when it was forced to quickly apply its brakes to avoid vehicles at the intersection with Lakeshore Drive North.
