WARWICK — Justin Levitt combined two passions for his Eagle Scout project, which was to resurface a ramp and complete other repairs and improvements at the skate park within Veterans Memorial Park in the Village of Warwick.
On June 9 and 10, Justin, together with friends and fellow scouts resurfaced the six-foot quarter pipe ramp to make it safer for skaters and bikers.
The scouts also braced and made repair on other ramps within the skate park, as well as cleaning the skate park itself. That included painting the end caps of the ramps so that they look uniform.
Justin also put up cubby shelves so skaters could store their belongings while skating.
As he acknowledged in the press release announcing the details of his effort, Justin “did not do this project alone,” and thanked his fellow scouts and friends along with Mayor Michael Newhard, Bill Lindberg, DPW Crew, Kuiken Brother’s, Wadeson and, for helping to support this project.
